Landfills
Two obvious facts about landfills. 1) Everybody needs a place to throw stuff away. 2) No matter how hard you to try to dispose of it, bury it, make it invisible, it’s not possible to make all the junk and garbage go away. There’s always someone finding a way to pick through it and take some of it home. It’s like a guilty secret in that way. The landfill is the diversion; look at the mountain covered with new grass on top, not the tattered items stolen from it and squirreled away in the world we think we live so cleanly in. The point? There’s nothing here. This is just the place where we will send the scavenged bits if and when we find them. It’s okay to go away now. Be not afraid.
